Dear Parents/Guardians of West Springs Student(s),

With the onset of each new school year, there are always so many questions and hopefully this can answer a few of them, as it relates to office administration items.

**NOTE:   Your student(s) will be coming home today with a paper copy of the WSS Admirable Use Policy. . This must be signed and returned to your teacher as soon as possible.  A copy is also attached to this message

Absentee Students:

** If your child will be absent please call our absentee line to leave a message:  403-777-6244 extension ‘1’ or email westsprings@cbe.ab.ca. 

If your child will be away more than a week, please fill out an extended absence form in the office

Late Students

Students who arrive at the school after 9:00 am will be marked late.  Parents/Guardians need to sign their student into the late sheet located in the office

Student Health Plan:

Complete the following form ONLY if your child has significant health concerns or conditions.    Please complete and return to the office

Kindergarten: 

AM Kindergarten attends Monday-Thursday 9:00-11:51 AM and some Fridays, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. 

PM Kindergarten Monday-Thursday 12:39-3:30 pm; & and some Fridays, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Grades 1-4: 

Monday-Thursday 9:00-3:30; Fridays 9:00-1:00 pm

New** Grades 3 & 4 Lunch-11:50-12:30 pm;  Grades 1 & 2 12:35-1:15 pm

2026-27 Fees

Lunch Supervision

Grades 1-4  - $350

Student Supplies

Half-Day Kindergarten - $20;  Grades 1-4 - $40

Yellow Bus Transportation

Regular Program - $500;  Kindergarten  Program (one-way transportation)- $250

• Lunch supervision fee is charged if your child is staying at the school for their lunch time.  Parents may register for noon supervision through their mycbe account.
• Central fees will be assigned to parents accounts mid-October
• Parents can also cancel their noon supervision and transportation on their mycbe account also.
• Please note: If at anytime you are experiencing financial difficulties please contact our office.  ​​Parents can apply for central waivers through their mycbe account

Snacks

Please be sure to pack enough food and snacks for your child each day including Fun Lunch and Fridays as they still have snack time in class on those days.  The office has a limited number of apples which we give out on emergency basis only.

Birthday snacks:

We request that shared birthday snacks are not brought in for student birthdays due to so many allergies and student health restrictions. 

Toys:

Students are not permitted to bring toys including moon balls, pokeman cards etc to school
