There are many ways you can contribute to our school’s success, and make a difference for our school and our students. In our school, this can include providing in-kind donations, contributing cash and lending expertise and technical knowledge. Connect with our principal on what may be appropriate. Ways to give to our school include:

Monetary (cash) Donation
  • I wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more.
    • Visit the EducationMatters online donation webpage to make a donation. (Preferred donation method)
    • Write a cheque payable to EducationMatters  (all one word) and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school or mail it to: EducationMatters, 1221 8 Street SW Calgary, AB T2R 0L4
  • I do not wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation
    • ​Write a cheque made payable to Calgary Board of Education  and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school.
In-kind donations of school supplies or equipment

    If you have multiple items in different categories, please fill out the form for each item. This will help us to process your offer more efficiently.

October 3rd, 2025

Hello West Springs Families!

 We have a few important updates.

Fun Lunch:

Our first Fun Lunch of the year is scheduled for October 16 (Mon/Wed Kindergarten October 15). Your order must be placed by October 11 via Healthy Hunger. 

 **If we need to cancel Fun Lunch, we will let you know by Friday October 10, and refunds will be issued via Healthy Hunger** 

 We are still looking for volunteers to help during our Fun Lunches. With many dates to choose from, please consider helping out - the time commitment is less than one hour starting at noon on Fun Lunch days.  All volunteers must have their vulnerable sector check security clearance with our school.  Upcoming Events:

Halloween Howler: Mark your calendars for Thursday October 23 for our annual spooktacular event, the Halloween Howler! Tickets are available for purchase via Healthy Hunger. 

 **We are currently planning for Halloween Howler to proceed, if school has not resumed by October 16, we will postpone the event. We will keep you posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as email everyone who has purchased a ticket. Please ensure you are following us on social media (links below)**

 Upcoming Fundraiser:

West Springs and West Ridge Casino – November 13,14, 17 & 18

We still need over 40 volunteers! Follow this link to sign up. If you have any questions, please email westspringswestridgecasino@gmail.com. This is our largest fundraiser and critical to the support provided to the school.

Welcome back to school! We hope you enjoyed a fantastic summer and are as excited as we are for the year ahead.

Volunteer opportunities:

The West Springs School Council and the WSSDA are currently looking to fill two volunteer roles for the 2025/2026 school year:

·       Fun Lunch Coordinator

·       Yearbook Coordinator

No experience is necessary, and we can have more than one person in each of these roles! Please reach out to westspringsschoolcouncil@gmail.com if you're interested in learning more. Thanks so much in advance. We can't offer these types of programs without volunteer support!

Upcoming Fundraiser
West Springs and West Ridge Casino – November 13,14, 17 & 18.
The Casino is our school’s biggest fundraiser and brings in over $70,000 which help fund learning initiatives at West Springs School. Please consider volunteering, this opportunity only comes up every two years and we must meet volunteer requirements to have this fundraiser.
