March 6

It is very important that the school have up-to date demographics for your child. This includes changes in phone numbers, addresses and authorized contacts for picking students up during school hours. Recently, we have had many grandparents, friends and dayhome providers show up at the school to pick a child up from school early and not be able to because they aren’t in PowerSchool. All custody and legal parenting agreements must also be on file and current.

If you need to add/update your demographics in any way, you can email the office at westpsprings@cbe.ab.ca and we can add the digital form to their SchoolEngage account for updating.  If the update is just for a short period of time (ie grandparents caring for students while parents are away), please include the teacher on your email. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Report Cards

Families are now able to view, download, and print online report cards for Semester 1 through MyCBE. Report Cards will be visible in PowerSchool through May 29th, 2026. After this date, Semester 1 Report Cards will no longer be available for viewing, downloading or printing.

Parents and Guardians can sign in to MyCBE  to view student information, including report cards, comments from your child’s teacher, assignments and grades, and attendance information. For the best access to information, log in through the MyCBE portal instead of using the PowerSchool App.

Grade 4 Parent Survey

As part of the ongoing commitment to providing a world-class education for Alberta’s children, Alberta Education will again be conducting their annual survey of grades 4, 7 and 10 students and their parents or guardians. The completion of the survey is voluntary and anonymous, as is completion of each question within the survey. The survey will gather important information about students’ and parents’ school experiences and will help to inform continuous improvement in our education system. The survey will also be sent to all teachers in the province. In some schools, all students in grades 4 and above – and their parents or guardians – will be surveyed.

To fill out the survey, please click on the survey link and enter the code sent to your email from the CBE on January 30th to begin the survey.  If you have more than one student in grades 4, 7, and 10, you will need to do the survey for each child. In this case, you will receive a separate email with a different code for each child (be sure to check your junk or spam folder for separate messages). Please know that only one Random Access Code(RAC)  is provided per child for parents and only one parent response can be submitted as RACs are single use.  By participating in the Alberta Education Assurance Survey, you are helping to shape the future of education in Alberta.

Student Learning Conferences: Learning conferences take place in March, and we invite parents to come to the school to meet with teachers and see examples of their child’s learning during a 15-minute individual conference in the classrooms. Conferences take place on Thursday, March 19 in the evening from 4 - 7:30 pm, and Friday, March 20, 2026 in the morning from 8:45 – 12:30 pm, and bookings will open next Saturday, March 14th at 8:00 am via your MyCBE account.

Kindergarten students have NO SCHOOL on Thursday or Friday, March 19th and 20th. The Kindergarten teachers have different conference schedules: Thursday during the day and in the evening for Mrs. Kinsey and Mrs. Kletsky and all day and evening Thursday AND the morning on Friday for Mrs Lynn.

On Thursday, March 19, children must go home after dismissal and before their conference time as we have no supervision available while teachers take a quick break and prepare their rooms.

Please check Lost & Found while at the school since unclaimed items will be donated to charity immediately after Spring Break.
