Dear West Springs Families,

Dress for the weather

The snow has arrived! There is so much joy for children when the snow arrives and we love to encourage creative play during winter. This is a reminder that we go outside to play every day unless the temperature drops below –20 degrees Celsius with the windchill factored in. Please dress your child appropriately for the weather! Toques, gloves and snowpants are especially important.

Traffic Safety

Thank you for choosing safety over convenience.  There is no parking in front of the school.  Please feel free to drop your child(ren) off at the Hug and Go. Please use the crosswalks; do not jaywalk across the very busy street.

Art Cards – Due Date November 25th

Good afternoon parents! A quick reminder that Art Card orders are due Monday, November 25th. Don’t miss out on these beautiful creations that your children have worked so hard on. Sample cards were sent home last week.

Scholastic Book Fair is coming!

Get ready! The Scholastic Book Fair will take place from Tuesday, November 26 to Thursday, November 28. Students will have one opportunity during this time to come in with their class to purchase books. We will also be open Thursday evening during conferences from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

Thank you to everyone who has already signed up to volunteer. We are still looking to fill a few volunteer spots. For students, it’s one of the most anticipated events of the school year—but we need volunteers to make it happen. Please sign up using the Signup Genius link below.

The shifts are 45 minutes to 1 hour in length. We hope that you can offer your time and talents to help students experience Bookjoy firsthand! And every purchase at the Fair directly benefits our school. So, it’s a win-win!

This year, we are happy to offer every volunteer a free book of your choice from the book fair to show our appreciation!

Please note that daytime volunteers must have a valid CBE vulnerable sector police clearance to participate. Thursday evening volunteers do NOT need police clearance.

If you’re available to lend a hand at this upcoming event, please click on this Signup Genius link.

Thank you!
