Grade 1 Sharing Assembly
Yesterday was a wonderful opportunity for our school community to share in the learning of our Grade 1 students so far this year. We heard the updated CBE’s Land Acknowledgement delivered by two of our Grade 1 students. We were treated to a Cree song and dance, we enjoyed listening to songs and messages of respecting personal space with our friends, the importance of families and how our brains are stretchy and growing when we learn – even when it’s hard! We also learned about the 4 seasons and how seasonal changes are all around us all the time. Bravo Grade 1 students!
We appreciate the time and effort of our staff who help pull it all together – we are better as a team. Thank you, staff!
We also heard the choir sing an original song written by Mr. Vooys. Thank you, choristers, for sharing your voices with us! It was a pleasure to hear you sing.
Empathy
We are well into the month of December, and we are continuing to grow and find our identity as a school community this year. Empathy and inclusiveness are something we work on each and every day with our students so that we can help students learn to become compassionate members of society. There is a reason schools are set up as large groups of people together in one space – to help foster empathy in students and equip them with the tools to navigate challenges, resolve conflicts and embrace diversity with open hearts and minds.
Art Cards
