Welcome Back!

The first days of school have gone very well thanks to our amazing students and staff!  A positive energy could be felt in the building along with a strong sense of optimism and excitement.

At West Springs School we are committed to fostering a safe, caring and welcoming school that supports all learners.  This year we will continue to have a strong focus on building foundational skills in
well-being, literacy and mathematics. Our work together is guided by our motto, Care for Self, Others and our Place.

Our staff value our partnership with families.   As the year progresses, we will continue connecting with you to celebrate your child’s successes, and we will work together to address any areas where they
are experiencing challenges.

Welcome back picnic and Meet the Teacher

Our first family event is Welcome Back Picnic – Meet the Teacher on September 12th.

This event combines a fun family style picnic with our open house meet the teacher format form last year. Families are welcome to order Subway through Healthy Hunger:

The picnic event is from 4:00 to 5:15 where all teachers will be outside mingling with students and families. The official open house in each teachers classroom begins at 5:30 and runs until 7:00 pm. More details to follow. If you are interested in ordering Subway, please note the deadline is approaching very quickly as it is September 7th.

As it is a new school year, parents will need to add their child in the system and corresponding teacher for the year in Healthy Hunger. New classes are all populated for the 2024/2025 school year.

Please note ordering closes 5 days prior to the event therefore orders will need to be in by September 7, 2024.

School Bus

If your child is registered to ride the school bus but will not be riding in the afternoon please call the school to let us know you have made alternative plans for the day.  We take attendance prior to the bus leaving the school and appreciate knowing your child will not be riding in advance.

Mobile Devices and Toys Policy

The CBE has enacted a new personal device policy in accordance with the ministerial order from Alberta Education.  All personal devices are ‘Away for the Day’ and we appreciate these devices staying at home.  We ask all toys, pokemon cards, moon balls and personal items remain at home as well.

 My CBE Account

Please remember to activate your family’s MyCBE account and complete a volunteer
clearance is you are able to share your time.  Please reach out to our
office staff if you need support with these important items at 403 777 6244.

Thank you again for all you do to support our learning community.  This is going to be a fantastic school year!
