Storytelling Celebration
Thank you to everyone who was able to come celebrate our amazing young storytellers. Despite the challenges with our outbreak status, we were so excited to be able to share our stories with you during our celebration evenings. Thank you very much to WSSDA and the School Council for sponsoring this incredible learning experience for our students. Thank you to Mr. Jeff for sharing our stories and your knowledge with us!!
Our recent Storytelling Celebration served as a powerful testament to the creative potential of young minds and the enduring value of narrative. Despite unforeseen challenges related to outbreak status, the event successfully showcased the students' dedication and resilience in crafting and sharing their personal stories. The success of this initiative was made possible by the generous sponsorship of WSSDA and the School Council, highlighting their commitment to enriching student learning experiences.
Special recognition is due to Mr. Jeff Stockton, whose expertise and guidance have been invaluable in empowering both staff and students to explore the nuances of storytelling and public speaking. The event fostered a supportive environment where students could confront their “whoosh”, delve into complex emotions, and ultimately, develop crucial communication skills. The enthusiasm with which students embraced the opportunity to share their stories beyond the classroom walls underscores the profound impact of this program.
As the school year progresses, the lessons learned from Mr. Stockton's mentorship will undoubtedly resonate, reminding us all of the importance of nurturing creativity and fostering connection through the art of storytelling. The celebration, as our remarkable Master of Ceremonies aptly highlighted, served as a heartfelt reminder of the joys and insights of childhood, encouraging us all to reconnect with our inner child
Thank you to everyone for making this such a great success!
Outbreak Status
We remain in outbreak status through the weekend and into next week. AHS will provide us with a lift date once the outbreak has been contained, and the school will let families know as soon as that happens. Thank you for your continued efforts and support in helping by keeping students' home when they are ill.
Choir News
Hello West Springs Families,
I hope this finds you well! The students did a great job with their storytelling. Due to the ongoing rash outbreak, we were unable to have the choirs perform this week. As of now, the choir is cancelled, as the outbreak is still ongoing, and we’re not allowed to mix classes. My apologies for the missed opportunity this week; I know that some of the kids were disappointed, and wish we’d been able to perform. Have a good weekend.
Best regards, Mr. Peter Vooys
